About the soho studio

Welcome to White Space Studios “The SoHo” studio, located in the heart of downtown Saskatoon in the historic York building. Our beautiful studio is flooded with natural light from our large west-facing windows, and features painted white wood floors, a make-up station, wardrobe racks, and a variety of stools for posing.

Our studio is perfect for a wide range of photography sessions, including portraits, headshots, and product photography, as well as the perfect space for intimate workshops, and meeting events. We also have a fully-stocked espresso machine to keep you energized during your shoot.

 The studio includes the following:

  • 950 square foot studio space

  • Beautiful neutral feature walls including an original brick wall

  • Double-sided, wheeled backdrop wall (black on one side and a seasonally rotating color on the other)

  • A makeup station in case you'll be bringing along a makeup artist or hair stylist

  • Large west facing windows with beautiful natural light

  • One Nanlite FS-300B continuous light (no trigger required), with a 4.5’ Godox Octabox

  • White wooden stools and apple boxes for posing

  • A comfortable sitting area for watching the shoot

  • Great sounding bluetooth speaker that connects to any device

  • High speed wifi access

  • Secured building

  • Keyless entry to the studio space

  • Shared public bathrooms on the 2nd floor

    The studio has over 950 square feet of useable space, leaving plenty of options to relax, shoot, create, and dream.

    FEATURE WALLS

    A neutral white/grey brick textured wall is a favourite featured backdrop in the studio. The other walls feature beautiful mouldings to highlight your subject without being distracting.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Soho has expansive windows offering dual exposure to the south and west. The lighting dynamics vary across the year, with the spring and summer seasons showcasing a profusion of sunlight streaming in from the south during the late morning hours. As the day progresses, the studio becomes fully illuminated in the afternoon, and the golden hour further accentuates the space with its warm, radiant light.

  • Yes! The Soho studio includes one Nanlite FS-300B continuous light (no trigger required), with a 4.5’ Godox Octabox for super soft and beautiful light. The studio light and modifier are set up and ready to go on a rolling c-stand for maximum support and ease of use.

  • The Soho studio offers a growing selection of available props, including stools, chairs, a couch, apple boxes, a fan, and a double-sided movable wall. There is also a large table suitable for makeup application, snack breaks, or as a workspace.

  • There isn’t a kitchen space in the studio, however we do have a mini fridge and a Nespresso coffee maker with pods available for you to use.

  • Certainly, the SoHo studio space is open to pets!

    We kindly request that pets avoid the light-colored furniture, and we appreciate ensuring their paws are clean prior to entering the studio. Please note there is a pet fee of $20 including GST. Pet Fee should be selected at the time of booking under “add-ons”. Your understanding is greatly valued.
