In the studio with Amanda zaki

This month, the spotlight turns to the Soho studio. Created to honour and celebrate the incredible fashion talent in Saskatchewan, this shoot blends an editorial vision with a soft, timeless aesthetic. The result is imagery that feels elevated yet delicate, modern, yet enduring.

In the Studio with Amanda Zaki

Meet Amanda Zaki: Born and raised in rural Saskatchewan, she has always been drawn to big dreams and meaningful moments. Long before it became her career, she was the girl with a camera, naturally documenting connection wherever she found it.

When she’s not behind the camera, Amanda manages an orthodontic clinic and spends her free time with her husband and bonus kids. She loves exploring the world, with Paris feeling especially like home to her creative soul.

Couples are her favorite to photograph. Whether it’s new love, seasoned love, or something beautifully in between, Amanda is drawn to capturing genuine connection in every season.

Q: What was the story behind this shoot?

Amanda: “I wanted to honour and celebrate the amazing fashion talent of Saskatchewan while bringing out the natural beauty, confidence, and strength of this stunning young model.  A true collaboration of creativity, passion, and artistry.”

Q: If you could photograph any person-living or historical-who it be and why?

Amanda: “I would love to photograph Taylor Swift because she represents storytelling at its highest level. Every era she creates is visually and emotionally intentional, offering endless creative inspiration. Capturing her would be about more than just a portrait — it would be about translating her artistry, evolution, and emotional depth into a single frame.”

Q: What’s one lesson you’ve learned that you’d share with new photographers?

Amanda: “Practice, practice, practice — you can never practice enough. Ask your friends and family to be your subjects, and don’t forget to challenge yourself by shooting in less-than-ideal conditions. Growth happens when you step outside your comfort zone.”

Q: What three words would you use to describe your photography style and how did this shoot reflect that?

Amanda: “Editorial, Soft, Timeless - This photoshoot was designed to reflect an editorial vision while maintaining a timeless and soft aesthetic. By combining thoughtful styling, gentle light, and intentional composition, the focus remains on the young model’s natural beauty and the elegance of the fashion design. The result is imagery that feels elevated yet delicate, modern yet enduring.”

Q: Why did you choose White Space Studios for this shoot?

Amanda: “White Space Studios is always my go-to. Not only is the natural light in the space consistently beautiful, but Nicole has done an impeccable job creating a studio that truly supports and elevates photographers within the community. The thoughtfully curated lighting, furniture, and backdrops provide access to luxury studio tools, allowing endless creative possibilities at your fingertips.”
