in the studio with delaney denham
This month’s feature in the Soho studio is a gentle glimpse into a family on the edge of a new chapter. It captures those fleeting, in-between moments filled with quiet excitement, soft connection, and a sense that something beautiful is just around the corner. There’s an ease to it all, where emotion unfolds naturally, creating imagery that feels both elevated and enduring.
In the Studio with Delaney Denham
Meet Delaney Denham: Originally from Prince Albert and now based in Saskatoon, she is a travel wedding and lifestyle photographer whose journey into photography happened unexpectedly but quickly became life-changing. Over the past five years, she has fallen in love with documenting wedding days and the meaningful connections that come with them. What started as something she never imagined pursuing has grown into a thriving career, with 33 weddings already booked for 2026. Beyond weddings, she’s drawn to capturing love in all its forms, from couples and families to those beautiful seasons of life that deserve to be remembered.
When she’s not behind the camera, you’ll likely find her enjoying a slow morning with her latte machine, traveling, spending time with family and friends, dancing around her apartment with headphones on, or getting lost in a good romance novel.
Q: What was the story behind this shoot?
Delaney: “The vision behind this session was to capture the quiet, in-between moments of a growing family in a way that feels honest and timeless. There’s something really special about documenting this season where life is about to change, but hasn’t quite yet, and I wanted that anticipation, fun, and tenderness to come through in a really natural way.”
Q: If you could photograph any person-living or historical-who it be and why?
Delaney: “This might be unconventional but honestly, I think I’d choose my parents when they were younger and dating. There’s something really special about the idea of meeting them in that season of life and getting to witness their love before I was ever part of it.”
Q: What’s one lesson you’ve learned that you’d share with new photographers?
Delaney: “I think my biggest advice would be to not stress about finding your niche or defining your style right away. That comes with time. When you approach photography from a place of genuine passion, love, curiosity, and connection, your style naturally starts to take shape on its own.The more you shoot what you love and stay true to what feels good to you, the more your work will begin to reflect that and that’s where your niche really finds you.”
Q: What three words would you use to describe your photography style and how did this shoot reflect that?
Delaney: “Emotive, fun, and intentional. This shoot really reflects that through how simple everything was, the space, the light, the energy. Nothing felt overly posed or forced, it was more about gently guiding them and letting moments happen as they naturally would. Plus with a 2 year old you gotta be having fun and keeping things light hearted and entertaining. I’m always drawn to real interaction and connection, and I think that really shows here. But also guided posing to remember and honor that is motherhood and the growth of a family”
Q: Why did you choose White Space Studios for this shoot?
Delaney: “I chose White Space Studios because it is the best studio hands down. The light in there is so soft and consistent, and the simplicity of the space makes it really easy to focus on what actually matters, connection. It gives the saying less in more in the best way!!!
Since they were coming in from out of town, it also gave them a really beautiful, calm space to just settle in and enjoy being together without any distractions. It allowed them to relax, be present, and just soak in that time as a family.”
