This month’s spotlight takes us into the Soho studio. A beautiful session that celebrates new life while honouring the already deep bond between a mom and her toddler. Soft, honest moments. Gentle connections. The kind of images that feel lived-in and real.

In the Studio with Jessica Morgan

Meet Jessica Morgan: Based in Saskatoon, Jessica is a photographer known for capturing some of life’s most meaningful seasons, maternity, newborn, and family moments filled with connection and authenticity. Her work is rooted in storytelling, preserving the quiet in-between moments that so often become the most cherished.

When she’s not behind the camera, Jessica is soaking up life at home with her husband and their two kids, a season that deeply informs the way she photographs families with empathy and intention. Photography has always been a part of Jessica’s story, a passion she’s returned to time and time again. Her advice to other creatives is refreshingly simple and deeply encouraging: “If it’s something you love to do, just do it.”

Q: What was the vision behind this shoot?

Jessica: “My goal in every shoot I do is to capture genuine connection. I crave to catch those authentic moments that just naturally happen - especially between a mother and her child.”

Q: If you could photograph any person-living or historical-who it be and why?

Jessica: “My Grandma Hella. She was such a role model to me and is so terribly missed. I would want to photograph her in her element - gardening, baking, sewing - all the things she excelled at that made her so special.”

Q: What’s one lesson you’ve learned that you’d share with new photographers?

Jessica: “If it's something that you love to do - just do it! Start the Instagram page and start taking photos. Try not to feel pressure to buy all the fancy things but rather invest in yourself. Take classes, do research and never be afraid to reach out for help.”

Q: Why did you choose White Space Studios for this shoot?

Jessica: “I love creating in Whitespace because of its convenience. Everything that you need is already there and it's just a blank canvas available for your creativity.”

Q: What’s one photo from this shoot that means the most to you, and why?

Jessica: “I honestly can't choose just one. What means the most to me is how the whole collection comes together to tell their story - the recognition of new life, the playfulness of a toddler, a special bond between a mother and son. Each moment adds depth to the bigger picture.”
